Sales Executive
Hybrid, Chiswick West London (1 day per week)
About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to join our global sales distribution team.
The purpose of this role is to identify and research new business opportunities, including bulk sales and customized publishing of BS products.
The role will manage and develop existing relationships, understand customer needs, and actively engage with organizations within the specified sectors to increase revenue and uptake of British Standards.
The Sales Executive will actively promote BS products and services to both internal and external customers.
Responsibilities:
* To meet and exceed set new revenue and renewal targets on a monthly basis within the specified sector.
* To proactively seek to understand customers’ needs through account management and present/develop the BSI Standards offering accordingly in order to capitalize on opportunities to sustain revenue growth.
* To identify customers who could benefit from other BSI Standards services and products and pass qualified leads to the relevant department.
* To undertake specific campaign work, based on targeting specific customers, sectors or products in line with strategic goals or product releases.
* To keep accurate and comprehensive records of all contact with customers in a shared CRM system, and through regular monthly reports and discussions with your line manager.
* To develop and implement an individual account strategy that ensures customers’ individual needs are understood and surpassed.
* To be the main point of operational contact with the BSI Standards affiliate provider.
* To attend exhibitions and internal BSI events promoting BSI Standards products and services.
* To perform other activities as necessary, including general customer service, liaison with Production, suppliers etc.
To be successful in the role, you will have:
* Proven experience in identifying and securing new business opportunities.
* Proven experience in account management and development.
* Good experience in a sales position where face to face external meetings form a key part of the role.
* Ability to self-motivate and work on own initiative to meet and exceed targets within given deadlines.
* Skills to complete detailed research and accurately interpret to identify sales opportunities.
* Excellent customer relationship skills and a drive to consistently exceed customer expectations.
* Ability to confidently communicate, present and negotiate on all levels.
* Enthusiastic approach with the ability to work on own initiative or as part of a team.
* Creative and innovative with a drive for continuous improvement.
* A positive outlook with desire to learn and embrace new challenges.
* Full UK driving licence.
* Fluent written and spoken English language skills.
* Intermediate level Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills.
* Experience in using a CRM system as an integral part of a previous sales role.
Desirable
* Demonstrable experience of success within a direct sales role within the publishing or information industries is highly desirable.
* Experience of selling information products or services to corporate and/or public sector customers.
* Educated to degree level or above.
* Advanced level Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills.
