Job Title: Aircraft Structures Engineer – Fatigue and Damage Tolerance

Salary: £46,426 – £54,759 dependent on skills and experience
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Aircraft Structures Engineer to join our Advanced Aerostructures team at BAE Systems. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for defining and carrying out engineering analysis tasks, reviewing and approving work done by less experienced colleagues, and mentoring and developing less experienced colleagues.
Key Responsibilities:
* Carrying out analysis of structure fatigue and damage tolerance calculations using a variety of software applications
* Assessing the F&DT implications of modifications and repairs to in-service aircraft
* Leading engineers in developing and delivering satisfactory customer outcomes
* Developing and delivering training programs for less experienced colleagues
* Collaborating with team members, suppliers, and customers to develop efficient and effective working practices
Requirements:
* STEM-related degree or relevant aerospace engineering experience
* Familiarity with structural fatigue and fracture mechanics, dynamics, vibration, and acoustic effects analysis methods
* Good understanding of classical structural analysis techniques and methods
* Experience in using and applying structural analysis tools such as Nastran
* Leadership and mentoring experience
