About the role
Following a decision of the Licensing Manager to reduce their working hours, a new opportunity has arisen for a fixed term job-share post to cover the remaining 2 days of the role until at least 31st March 2026.
Following the creation of the council in 2021, there is a need for the post holder to be involved in service redesign, database migration work and policy formation. This is therefore an exciting opportunity to lead change and improvement work across the Licensing and Service Support teams.
What will you be doing?
The post holder will manage the Licensing team which covers a wide range of licensing functions including Licensing Act 2003, gambling, taxi and Environmental Health licensing. In addition, the post holder is also responsible for managing the Environmental Health Service Support team.
The post offers flexibility in terms of hybrid working at home and in the office.
About you
We are looking for an experienced operational leader with an extensive knowledge and understanding of local authority Licensing services, with experience of working at a senior level.
Demonstrable experience in delivering on targets and performance management is also required.
You will have a Degree or Diploma in a relevant discipline such as Environmental Health or relevant equivalent experience.
