Hain Celestial are Recruiting a Senior Product Developer to join our Histon, Cambridgeshire site. The role involves supporting the NPD (New Product Development) Manager to deliver products that meet quality, safety, and margin expectations. The individual will manage projects throughout the NPD procedure, from concept development to product launch, ensuring adherence to processes and procedures while managing cross-functional relationships and troubleshooting issues as they arise. Roles and Responsibilities: Project Management (20%) Manage customer/brand briefs as directed by the NPD Manager. Ensure projects begin with a clear brief. Ensure adherence to all NPD procedures and timely completion of paperwork. Develop strong cross-functional relationships and communicate effectively to keep projects on track. Organize and facilitate project meetings. Escalate concerns if the ability to meet project briefs is at risk. Troubleshoot and problem-solve to keep the project on schedule. Concept Development (25%) Follow the feasibility and NPD process. Ensure accurate product costing and track costs throughout the process. Submit complete and accurate paperwork to internal and external customers. Support brand sell-ins and manage internal stakeholder panels. Develop branded products in line with brand standards and own-label products to customer standards. Ensure all products are tasted and approved before dispatch. Work with procurement to ensure suitability of new raw materials and packaging. Develop new concepts in line with factory processes and briefs. Conduct benchmarking in line with customer and brand expectations. Process Development (25%) Run PPRs (Product Process Reviews). Ensure product files are complete, accurate, and timely. Ensure compliance with BRC requirements and readiness for annual audits. Share accurate data with technical and key departments, including shelf life, nutritional information, and artwork. Promote continuous improvement (CI) culture to improve processes and efficiency. Review packaging and processes to encourage innovation. Attend relevant conferences and share insights with the team. Coordinate or conduct post-trial tasks for product confirmation (e.g., re-heat instructions, organoleptic assessments). Support product photography sessions as necessary. Set up new products in recipe and equipment software systems. Support PPRs and launches ensuring customer product approval. Customer Relationship & Management (20%) Act as the NPD point of contact for customers/brands. Communicate effectively throughout the development process to maintain customer confidence. Develop and maintain key relationships between Hain Daniels and its customers in coordination with the Product Developer/Technologist. Work with Technical and Sales teams to ensure a consistent approach to customers. Stay updated on customer expectations and brief teams accordingly. Teamwork (10%) Deputize for the NPD Manager when necessary. Manage the placement student (site-specific). Track department spend to ensure budget targets are met. Support team members and actively represent RDQ within the business. Maintain effective communication to support cross-functional collaboration. Ensure a clean and hygienic workspace.
