What we are looking for in the ideal Safeguarding lead:
1. DSL training level 3 or above and experience working as a DSL.
2. Level 3 in Health and Social Care, or working with children and young people (Desirable)
3. Proven track record of excellent creative and structured pastoral interventions within relevant special needs environment.
4. Experience of holding responsibility for and turning policy into effective and successful practice.
5. Leadership in a residential setting such as a Children's Home or Adult Care Home
6. Communicating effectively to a wide range of different audiences through a range of different mediums and managing relationships with various external agencies.
7. Successful management of complex scenarios and conflict resolution as well as experience of using effective behaviour and teaching strategies.
8. Understanding of the implementation of ASD intervention and support strategies (TEACCH, attention Autism or other similar).
9. Experience of OFSTED & CQC inspections and following action planning.
