Job Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and motivated finance professional to join the Finance department at North Bristol NHS Trust as part of a dedicated team to support the income function within the Trust, which has responsibility for c£800m of annual revenue.
We are looking for a dedicated and innovative self-starter to support the timely and accurate production of financial and activity information which requires understanding, interpretation, and analysis. You will support the team to investigate and resolve queries from external and internal finance and commissioning staff and pursue corrective action in consultation with the team as well as managing the commissioner income inputs into the ledger.
Main duties of the job
The role will work closely with colleagues to provide outstanding financial support and information. This role represents an excellent opportunity to develop your accounting skills within a large and complex organisation. As a department we actively support those that are studying for accountancy qualifications and study support is available.
The successful candidate will be pro-active, comfortable with working with a wide range of people from both a finance and non-finance background, and able to work autonomously. Attention to detail and an ability to work to deadlines are essential.

Education/Training And Qualifications
Essential criteria
* AAT intermediate / technician level (Level 3) or equivalent demonstrable knowledge and experience.
Work Experience
Essential criteria
* Sales ledger experience including invoicing and reconciliations
* Experience of financial systems, including ledgers
* Experience in accounting including processing journals, using accounting principles, adhering to SFIs
* Working effectively and efficiently in a fast-changing environment
* Accurate and detailed record keeping
Desirable criteria
* Reporting within the NHS
* Experience of working within the NHS or similar sized organisation
* Experience of dealing with queries from both internal and external parties
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
Essential criteria
* Knowledge and experience in the use of Microsoft products i.e. Excel, Access and Outlook
* Ability to organise and prioritise own workload in meeting objectives/goals
