The role is responsible for translating all relevant consumer research and segmentation into a market leading category approach.

Job Description
This role is a Manager (M2) Grade

Your role as Category Manager - Off Trade
8. Provide leadership, insight, activation ideas and tools to deliver on above category approach
9. Master all relevant category insight available to Greene King providing clear “so what” implications and actionable insight
10. Use category and key account data (KAD) to support category and brand recommendations
11. Have a strong understanding of priority customer’s category objectives and implication for Greene King
12. Agree category management priorities with key stakeholders in sales and marketing
13. Ensure brand planning process is aligned to category priorities
14. Ensure key customer planning process is aligned to category priorities
15. Provides category insight to optimise Greene King assortment during customer range reviews
16. Ensure step change in off trade sales team category knowledge and understanding of category growth drivers
17. Lead or participate in a variety of category management projects including customer led initiatives eg Project Ale from Tesco
18. Managing the execution and review of priority category initiatives in collaboration with sales and customer stakeholders.
19. Building a network of relevant customer contacts and activating a contact strategy that demonstrates putting the customer first. Provide objective category insight to key customers
20. Building a network of industry and category experts to ensure Greene King has up to date understanding of best practice category management
What you’ll bring…
21. Minimum 2 years experience as category Executive or manager with major FMCG or BWS supplier
22. Experience of delivering step change category initiatives within at learst one top four grocery customer (Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Morrisons or Asda)
23. Compelling communicator – able to utise a range of styles in both written and verbal incl story telling
24. Strong intellectual horsepower – able to lead agenda through strength of intellect
25. Excellent learning agility able to understand beer category dynamics quickly if new to category
26. Excellent data analytics – able to mine data to provide actionable insight.
27. Able to influence senior stakeholders and demonstrate confidence and gravitas
28. Strong numerical ability
29. Confident in the use of Excel, Powerpoint and Word
30. Proactive individual capable of working independently
31. Personal resilience and able to work under pressure with tight deadlines
32. Strong fit with the Greene King values - able to demonstrate examples of these
33. Quick learner and comfortable with ambiguity
