Job Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and skilled Physiotherapist to join our surgical team for a 9-month period. We are looking for a motivated, dedicated, and innovative individual who is eager to expand their knowledge in the field of colorectal surgery, including respiratory and vascular care. You will assess and treat complex respiratory patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings, seeing a variety of patients and leading by example with your passion for improving clinical outcomes and care provision.
Main Duties of the Job
You will manage a highly complex caseload of patients as a specialist in colorectal and vascular care, including:
1. Progressing treatment of surgical/ICU step down patients recovering from complex colorectal procedures
2. Management of post-operative respiratory complications
3. Providing support to patients on the vascular ward, including amputees, during prosthetic rehabilitation
You will deliver training in your discipline and contribute to the training of other disciplines within the team. You will participate in service development, audit, and QI initiatives. Being a team player with good leadership skills and significant experience supervising staff/students is essential. You should have demonstrable post-registration experience, ideally working at a Band 6 level in an acute setting.
You will be expected to contribute to the weekend working service at the Royal Oldham Hospital. You will be well supported by the Operational/Professional Lead, the Lead PTs, and the Lead therapists in the service and the wider Physiotherapy workforce.

Person Specification
Qualifications / Registration
* Degree in Physiotherapy
* HCPC registered in Physiotherapy
* Member of the CSP
Experience
* Significant experience of working at Band 5 or Band 6 level or above within the relevant field
* Undertaken significant CPD/postgraduate training in the area of specialty
* Experience of working in a complex MDT
* Evidence of effective communication skills with patients with altered cognition and barriers to communication
* Evidence of autonomous decision-making in an acute clinical setting
* Evidence of assessing and treating a wide variety of patients following complex surgical procedures
* Evidence of assessing and treating patients with respiratory conditions
* Evidence of assessing and treating vascular patients including amputees
* Evidence of leadership experience
* Evidence of involvement in research related to the relevant field
Skills
* Evidence of conflict management
* Strong evidence of supervision/competent clinical educator in a clinical setting
* Evidence of teaching/training
* Evidence of quality improvement work or service development within a clinical setting
* Practical experience of using respiratory adjuncts
