Do you have experience of conducting risk assessments for maintenance activities? Our client is now recruiting for an Engineering Planner to work in their premium food processing site. If you're proactive, highly organised and are able to manage / oversee the planning and control of engineering work within their food production environment, this may be the role for you You’ll be responsible for the development and execution of weekly maintenance plans whilst ensuring both effective resource allocation and optimal asset conditions for operational processes. You'll will play a crucial role in establishing an engineering planning function that aligns with broader business goals, managing planning activities across site, facilities, and personnel, including site projects. This will be a varied role, but will include the following duties: Understand internal and external customer needs, ensuring timely and efficient completion of maintenance tasks to meet operational requirements. Prioritise and deliver planned and unplanned engineering activities to meet operational needs, ensuring compliance with safety standards including employee, product, and site safety protocols. Oversee the maintenance of site assets and facilities using a Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS), coordinating both planned and reactive maintenance activities in collaboration with stores and administrative functions. Apply problem-solving techniques to address root causes and prevent recurrence of issues, ensuring compliance with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) standards and contributing to ongoing process improvements. Promote a strong safety culture by leading by example and ensuring all work is carried out in compliance with safety standards and company policies. Work closely with various teams across the site to foster effective communication and ensure compliance with GMP standards throughout operations. Review and interpret handover reports, identify opportunities for planning improvements, and analyse utility and asset performance data to drive efficiency improvements. Ensure Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) tasks are scheduled outside of production hours or as agreed with relevant operational departments. Provide key engineering insights that may affect day-to-day site logistics and operations. Ensure accurate tracking and maintenance of all productive and non-productive assets, utilising internal and external resources where necessary. Maintain high standards of personal hygiene, wear required PPE, and adhere to food safety policies while conducting maintenance activities. Ensure adherence to relevant company policies, industry regulations, and applicable welfare laws. Be open to performing additional tasks or supporting other departments as needed to ensure overall operational efficiency. After 2 years' service entitlements increase to 30 days and after 5 years to 31 days (inclusive of bank holidays).
