This role is within a unit where Surrey Police and Sussex Police work in collaboration, while remaining two separate legal entities/employers with different terms and conditions.
Both Surrey Police staff and Sussex Police staff are employed in this unit on their own force terms and conditions.
Successful candidates may be appointed on the terms and conditions of employment of either Surrey Police or Sussex Police, depending on organisational requirements. A discussion will be held with the successful candidate to confirm the details of location, salary, allowances, and hours.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Investigations Manager to join the Surrey & Sussex Digital Forensics Team on a fixed term contract. In this role, you will be using your investigative experience to assist in managing the demand for Digital Forensics work ensuring requests are proportionate, necessary and in line with the forces' priorities.
Digital Forensics is a growth business area and this opportunity gives the post holder the ability to influence the direction of the team, contributing to the design of a robust and sustainable service delivery model for Digital Forensics moving forwards.
As part of the Digital Forensic Team's Senior Management Team, you will work alongside the Professional Leads who manage the day-to-day running of the teams and the Technical Lead who manages the technical challenges as well as the drive for gaining compliance with the Forensic Science Regulators Code of Practice.
The post holder will contribute to the high-level strategy for Digital Forensics to ensure activity is efficient and effective, maximising the contribution to Surrey and Sussex police outcomes.
Skills & Experience
We are looking for candidates with PIP2 Investigator qualifications, and degree level academic or professional qualification or equivalent professional experience in this area.
Candidates should also be able to demonstrate:
* A good working knowledge of crime policies and procedures relating to criminal investigation and particularly the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984 and the Criminal Procedure and Investigations Act 1996.
* Substantial, proven and well-evidenced experience in criminal investigation.
* Proven ability to analyse problems, make sound operational decisions and have a high level of persistence and self-motivation to see an investigation through to conclusion.
* Excellent interpersonal skills with the confidence and ability to negotiate and influence others through verbal and written communication.
* Ability to independently exercise own judgement in a consistent manner, within confines of legislation and agreed procedures.
* Ability to interpret information quickly and effectively in order to select the right course of action.
* Excellent organisational, planning and prioritising abilities.

Further Information
This role is being offered initially as a 12 month fixed term contract subject to review.
External applicants will be employed on Sussex terms & conditions.
There will be a requirement for the post holder to work alongside the teams on site, with the primary location being Haywards Heath Police Station; however, travel to Mount Browne, Guildford will also be required as part of the role. Agile or home working will be by exception and with agreement of line management.
