Key Responsibilities: - Prepare vehicles for painting by sanding, blocking, masking, and priming surfaces. - Inspect vehicles for any imperfections or damage, ensuring all areas requiring repair are identified. - Repair minor dents, scratches, and other imperfections on vehicle surfaces. - Mix and match paint colors to achieve the desired finish and ensure color consistency. - Apply primers, basecoats, and clearcoats using spray guns and other painting equipment. - Perform paint blending and feathering techniques to achieve seamless transitions between repaired and original surfaces. - Ensure proper adhesion and paint coverage while minimizing overspray and wastage. - Follow established safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment. - Collaborate with the team to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of projects. - Conduct quality checks on finished work to ensure adherence to company standards. Requirements: - Proven experience as a Car Prepper and Painter in an automotive body repair or collision center. - Extensive knowledge of paint mixing, matching, and application techniques. - Proficiency in using spray guns, sanders, and other automotive painting equipment. - Familiarity with various paint systems, including water-based and solvent-based paints. - Ability to read and interpret paint codes and specifications. - Strong attention to detail and the ability to work meticulously to achieve flawless finishes. - Excellent color perception and color-matching skills. - Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations in an automotive painting environment. - Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. - Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and meet deadlines. - High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in automotive refinishing is a plus.
