Your opportunity
This is a fantastic placement opportunity for an individual wishing to pursue a career in control and instrumentation. At the heart of our UK operations effort, our committed SCADA/C&I teams play a critical role in keeping our wind farms operating at maximum efficiency, powering hundreds of thousands of homes and businesses across the UK. In addition to gaining a deep understanding of the industrial control systems used across the Offshore Wind, you’ll be a valued part of our team gaining hands-on experience and working with multi-disciplinary teams, providing you with a holistic view of the sector. You will:
6. Provide support to C&I engineers across a broad range of C&I/SCADA project deliverables
7. Review design specifications and other project documentation, feeding back on their quality and accuracy and making recommendations for improvements
8. Take the lead on delivering multiple assigned work packages – on time and within budget – honing both your technical and delivery skill set.
As part of a global function, not only will you have the chance to network with experts from across the world, you will also be invited to attend a number of meetings and workshops in Hamburg, providing a great opportunity to learn about other business cultures.
And, if you’re a student member of the IET or InstMC you’ll be in good company; we’ll support you in linking the knowledge and skills you build with us to the relevant professional standards.
About you
9. You’ll be an undergraduate studying electrical/electronic engineering or control and instrumentation, or even computer science - with an option to undertake a full year in industry placement in your penultimate year. We’re looking for people on track to gain a 2.1 or higher
10. Through both your current knowledge and understanding, you can demonstrate a very strong interest in large scale C&I systems, coupled with an enthusiasm for renewable energy
11. Highly analytical and enjoy getting into the detail, you can also think creatively
12. You’re confident in your communication skills – both written and verbal
13. You can demonstrate that you are able to co-ordinate your own workload, be highly organised and meet tight deadlines
14. You have a good knowledge of basic Microsoft packages (e.g. word, excel, powerpoint, outlook) and you’ll be developing your programming skills ( some knowledge of SQL would be great)
15. You’re comfortable working in a team environment

Location: Swindon (will consider hybrid options with regular travel to Swindon offices)
