If you want to join a leading Yorkshire law firm and work in a collaborative, friendly, and inclusive environment where you will be supported and given opportunities to develop your skills and experiences, we have an excellent opportunity.
Our Marketing and Business Development (MBD) team has a new vacancy for a self-motivated and enthusiastic Events & Communications Executive to cover a period of maternity leave for an initial period of 12 months.
You will be at the heart of our event management activities, taking the lead role in planning, coordinating, and executing all our calendar of events, which includes webinars, seminars, and activity days with clients, as well as various other events, functions, dinners, and get-togethers.
This means taking responsibility for the entire event management lifecycle, from researching and proposing event options and agreeing on budgets to organising and managing the invitation process, working with colleagues to deliver on-the-day arrangements, promoting event details to relevant audiences, and running a review process afterwards.
You’ll need to be organised, capable of multitasking, and have excellent project management experience. You will also need a reasonable level of local knowledge to give the best advice on sourcing venues, choosing the right location, and negotiating the best value.
Your events management responsibilities will also extend to managing all post-event follow-up actions. This will include collating information and helping us assess their success.
Our role extends beyond events management, though, and you will balance the events work with being responsible for developing communication strategies to promote our services and brand.
You will devise and implement communication strategies, create engaging content for social media, newsletters, and press releases, and maintain our website. You will act as our ‘brand guardian’.
Monitoring and analysing communication metrics and managing media relationships will also be part of your role to ensure our messages reach the right audience.
If you have proven experience in events management and communications, ideally gained within a commercial environment, you could be the person we are looking for.
You will need to have excellent written and verbal communication skills. This means being creative, having an excellent eye for detail and being able to adjust your language and ‘tone of voice’ to each specific audience.
You must be able to handle multiple priorities and plan and manage other stakeholders’ expectations so that events and marketing activities are delivered on time and as scheduled.
You will need to be comfortable using CRM systems and various social media platforms, intranets, and websites and be proficient with digital marketing tools.
Although we operate a Hybrid Working policy and this role is based in our Bradford office, you will need to be flexible and be able to travel between our offices in Leeds and Huddersfield, as well as to any venues we may be using in the local areas.
If all this sounds like a role you could step into and a firm where you’d like to be, we want to hear from you. Please send your CV and a cover email, including details of your current salary, to our HR Director, Neil Towse (neiltowse@schofieldsweeney.co.uk).
