The Position Job Title: Apprentice Cellular Network Field Engineer Apprenticeship Course: Level 4 Cellular Network Field Engineer Apprenticeship Duration: 36 Months EPA Location: Reading, RG31 Working Hours: Monday to Friday – 9am to 6pm Salary: £19,000 Role and Responsibilities: RIGGING Health & safety focused To take instructions from other Riggers & the Rigging Team Leader. To become competent in all aspects of the Rigging role. Maintain a high standard of work on site Once trained in Ariel works start to learn the ways of working and assist/learn from the team onsite Carry pre use inspection of own personal protective fall equipment (PFPE) I&C Commissioning of Ericsson RBS 6000 and BBs 6600 series controllers, DUG, DUW, DUL, DUS, Nokia Airscale and Huawei BTS 3900 Equipment. Test calls of Vodafone, O2 and EE networks. Terminating and testing of external alarms. Maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing of deployed telecommunications equipment. Keeping records of upgrades, repairs, and maintenance performed. Maintaining in-depth, current knowledge of equipment. Reporting of the full working process on field. Maintaining workflow process reports. Verifying service by testing circuits, equipment, and alarms; identifying, correcting, or escalating problems. Maintaining network by troubleshooting and repairing outages; testing network back-up procedures; updating documentation. Keeping supplies ready by inventorying stock. ELECTRICAL Assist in the installation, repair and maintenance of electrical systems and equipment Learn to read and interpret wiring diagrams Assist in the installation of electrical components such as switches, outlets and circuit breakers Learn to use hand and power tools to complete tasks Assist in the testing and troubleshooting of electrical systems and equipment GENERAL Ensure that all work is completed safely and in accordance with industry standards and regulations To complete all tasks/training provided by the apprenticeship scheme provider To successfully complete all tests & exams related to the CNFE apprenticeship. Desired Qualities, Skills and Knowledge: Excellent communication and teamwork skills Basic IT skills and site related mobile applications.
