Job summary A new and exciting opportunity to join our Operational Team for Surgery, Transplant and Anaesthetics as a Virtual Ward Service Manager. Royal Papworth Hospital has collaboratively developed a co-hosted Virtual Ward model with our Partner Cambridge University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (CUH). CUH has a dedicated virtual ward team supporting patients remotely, providing a 24 hour service. The virtual ward at CUH is well established and has cared for over 2500 patients since it's inception in 2022. Main duties of the job The Virtual Ward Service Manager will lead the service for Royal Papworth, ensuring the most efficient and effective use of the allocated virtual ward capacity. They will work closely with clinical colleagues through the ward and board rounds to identify suitable patients to be referred to the virtual ward. They will oversee the referrals and ensure safe and efficient practice. They will work closely with CUH operational team to review the service performance and activity through incident, risk and activity reports. We are looking for a skilled and passionate leader that can work independently to lead and further develop the service to ensure the best use of resources, equity to service users and improved patient experience, whilst providing operational oversight.
