Our team is committed to safeguarding the welfare and well-being of vulnerable children, empowering them to overcome challenges and thrive in safe and nurturing environments.\n\nPosition Overview: We are currently seeking a skilled and compassionate Children in Need Social Worker to join our dynamic team on a contract basis, offering an attractive rate of £35 per hour. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in assessing the needs of children and families, coordinating services, and implementing tailored support plans to address complex issues and promote positive outcomes.\n\nResponsibilities:\n\nConduct comprehensive assessments of children and families to identify strengths, needs, and risks, utilizing evidence-based tools and frameworks.\nDevelop and implement holistic support plans in collaboration with children, families, and relevant professionals, ensuring that interventions are child-centered and culturally sensitive.\nProvide direct support and intervention to children and families, addressing issues such as safeguarding concerns, family breakdown, substance misuse, domestic violence, and mental health difficulties.\nAdvocate for the rights and best interests of children and families, representing them in meetings, case conferences, and court proceedings as required.\nLiaise with external agencies and partner organizations to coordinate services and access resources to meet the needs of children and families effectively.\nMaintain accurate and up-to-date case records, reports, and documentation in accordance with regulatory standards and organizational policies.\nWork collaboratively with colleagues, including social work assistants, team managers, and other professionals, to ensure coordinated and integrated support for children and families.\nParticipate in regular supervision, team meetings, and training sessions to enhance professional development and practice knowledge.Requirements:\n\nQualified Social Worker with relevant professional registration (e.g., HCPC).\nProven experience working with children and families in need within a social services or child welfare setting.\nStrong assessment and analytical skills, with the ability to identify needs, risks, and protective factors and develop appropriate support plans.\nExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish trusting relationships with children, families, and colleagues.\nSound knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures related to child protection, safeguarding, and children in need.\nAbility to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team, demonstrating resilience, empathy, and professionalism in challenging situations.\nFlexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced and demanding environment.\nValid driver's license and access to a vehicle for travel within the community (if required).Benefits:\n\nCompetitive hourly rate of £35 per hour, paid on a weekly basis.\nFlexible working hours and the opportunity to work remotely where possible.\nSupportive team environment with regular supervision, training, and professional development opportunities.\nMeaningful and rewarding work that makes a positive difference in the lives of vulnerable children and families.Randstad Care acts as an employment business when supplying temporary staff and as an employment agency when introducing candidates for permanent employment with a client.
