Vertiv is hiring a Sustainability Engineer to be based at their Burnfoot office in Ireland. Vertiv, Ireland develops and creates power distribution solutions including Busbar Trunking, Switchgear, Energy Management, and Modular Power Solutions. Operating on a Global Scale, you will be joining the world's largest provider of critical infrastructure and services for data centers, communication networks, and commercial and industrial environments.
The role
The Sustainability Engineer is responsible for supporting the setup, release, and process for new part numbers and changes to bills of materials. The individual in this role will work with procurement on vendor setup and certification as well as engineering buyer within the line of business. The Sustainability Engineer will report into the switchgear line of business supporting globally for the Company. This role helps provide support and expertise in business solutions for manufacturing through the most effective use of Vertiv Digital Assets and other technology by working with the organization's business stakeholders.
What you will be doing
1. Support the operation by providing a complete and full Engineering definition for manufacturing.
2. Create and track ECO/ECNs through systems and processes to ensure timely completion.
3. Work with procurement and engineering buyer for new SKU setup and BOM inputs.
4. Train order engineering on SKU requests and BOM changes.
5. Write specs, manage project execution, and create new products according to the strategy and change management required.
6. This position will support applications such as Oracle ERP, Oracle Engagement Cloud, Oracle Field Services, Oracle Product Development Cloud, etc.
7. Act as a subject matter expert (SME) in the development of engineering architecture framework development and design methodology development.
Ideal skills and qualifications
1. 1-3 years of technical, product/service, strategic planning, marketing, or directly related experience.
2. Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
3. Excellent communication skills – written & verbal.
4. Exceptional consultative approach, understanding customer needs, documenting requirements, solutioning to meet requirements, consulting to determine customer fit to solution, developing, and delivering solution in accordance with customer expectations.
5. 3D modeling / 2D drafting.
6. Ability to facilitate positive and effective cross-functional relationships across the LOB.
7. Computer skills – proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
