Duration: 24 Weeks - Start Date: Monday 14th April 2025, End Date: Sunday 28th September 2025. There may be an option to stay on for a further 4 weeks.
Action Adventure Activities is a small, family-run outdoor activities centre based at the edge of Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park. We provide a variety of activities for adventurers aged 5 and upwards and have been providing activities to the public since 2008, with our Trainee Programme running since 2012. One of our highlights of 2024 was winning the category “Best Day Out” in the Scottish Hospitality Awards, as well as winning a third Scottish Prestige Award for Adventure Experience of the Year, for our area. We have also been recognised as a Travellers Choice destination by TripAdvisor for the past 3 years.
For 2025, we are recruiting candidates for our Intern Trainee Program to join our small team. Candidates will receive training in all of the activities we provide and go on to assist and lead sessions with the public as well as gaining several National Governing Body (NGB) qualifications. Food and accommodation are provided throughout the programme. This is a full-time, on-site, live-in position.

2. Paddlesport Safety and Rescue Course
3. Paddle Explore Award
4. Paddle Sports Instructor
5. Paddle Board Instructor
6. IRF Raft Guide Training/Assessment & WRT Pro 3 (or equivalent)
7. RCI Training or Assessment
8. Memberships, course fees and registrations are included
9. Site specific activity training - 4x4, Quads, Paddlesports, Target/Warrior Sports, Climbing and Abseiling
10. Off site activity training - Canyoning, Gorge Walking & River Tubing, Rafting
Leading and assisting in all our activities, giving you invaluable experience working with the public. Candidates that show good instructing ability will have the opportunity to lead more of the activities we offer - a great asset to the CV of any aspiring instructor. Gain DIY/building/landscaping skills as you help contribute to the expansion and ongoing development of the centre. Trainees will be put forward for ALL of the training & courses above.
Prerequisites:
1. Minimum of 18 years old at the start of the course
2. Right to work in the UK
3. 2 recent references
4. Must be able to attend an onsite in-person interview/activity day as part of our selection process
Desirable:
1. Soft skills - good people skills
2. Some previous experience of a variety of outdoor activities
3. Experience working with the public
4. Full UK driving licence
5. Own transport
Trainees will be mentored and coached by our Instructor staff, and business owners, as well as external freelance professionals. Regular tasks will include helping with the provision of all activity sessions, housekeeping, janitorial and maintenance work for our Glamping Tents and Outbuildings, landscaping, tree planting and collecting firewood amongst others.
You’ll receive a £100 - 120 per week training supplement as well as a £20 per week kit allowance.* (*Kit allowance kicks in after 8 weeks probationary period and is paid as a lump sum at the end of the season, upon successful completion of the program.)
On completion of the course, candidates will be ready to confidently move on to a career in the outdoors. Accommodation is shared in large static caravans on a co-ed basis. Meals provided 7 days a week.
