The Data Protection Analyst is responsible for providing support for all aspects of the Wealthtime Group’s Data Protection framework and strategy. This will include providing support for overseeing the cultural, physical, and technical elements of Data Protection throughout the Wealthtime Group.
Supporting the Head of Compliance, the role holder will oversee the policies, procedures, and controls put in place for the management of data privacy compliance. The Data Protection Analyst position will include advising key stakeholders on data privacy compliance, providing data protection training, maintaining the Wealthtime Group’s Register of Processing Activities (ROPA), and overseeing the completion of Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs).
The role holder will also support the Head of Compliance with the production of data protection-related management information, as well as becoming a key subject matter expert and key point of contact within the business.
Key responsibilities:
* Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of all relevant legislative, regulatory, and judicial developments affecting GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
* Provide guidance, advice, and support to business units on Data Protection compliance matters.
* Assist with developing the Wealthtime Group’s data protection policies, procedures, and controls.
* Maintain and monitor the Wealthtime Group’s Register of Processing Activities (ROPA).
* Oversee the completion of Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and Legitimate Interest Assessments (LIAs), where appropriate.
* Support data protection training, and data protection embeddedness within the business.
* Ensure that documentation and records are kept up to date, including identifying any emerging developments or trends in relation to data protection.
* Investigate and respond to data privacy compliance-related breaches and incidents, as well as inquiries from regulators, clients, and internal stakeholders.
* Create and comment on data protection compliance management information that feeds into the Compliance Officer’s Board Reports.
* Help to ensure any changes are communicated to all relevant internal stakeholders.
* Participate in industry forums and stay informed about emerging compliance trends and best practices.
* Keep management informed of significant data privacy compliance issues and developments.
You will, from time to time, be required to undertake other activities that fall within your capabilities as directed by management.
