Job Title: Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager

Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to join our team and drive the health, safety, and environmental initiatives across our site. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation, promoting a safe working environment, and continuously improving the site's performance in line with the company's EHS strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Ensure full legal compliance for health and safety in the workplace by conducting regular audits and inspections to maintain the highest standards.
2. Lead training sessions for both new and existing staff, identifying opportunities for staff development and improvement.
3. Implement continuous improvement techniques to enhance health, safety, and environmental performance and management systems.
4. Investigate incidents promptly, performing root cause analysis and ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
5. Assist with the creation, implementation, and review of Risk Assessments, safe working procedures, and method statements.
6. Deliver and support the company's Health and Safety strategy and initiatives across the site.
7. Stay up-to-date with all relevant legislation and ensure compliance with any changes.
8. Review and update company Health & Safety documentation in line with statutory obligations, including CDM Regulations.
9. Ensure that all necessary assessments are conducted and reviewed within relevant intervals.
10. Conduct regular site inspections and audits, preparing detailed health and safety audit reports.
11. Review and update RAMS and COSHH assessments where necessary.
12. Lead investigations into accidents and near-miss incidents, documenting findings and ensuring corrective actions are taken.
13. Coordinate and lead Health & Safety training initiatives across the business.
14. Assist the Pre-Construction Team with Health & Safety Questionnaires.
15. Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 standards, and ensure that all relevant matters are handled with available company resources.
Skills and Experience Required:
1. Proven experience in a heavy manufacturing environment, managing health, safety, and environmental concerns.
2. NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent) is highly preferred.
3. Experience managing a site within HSE, with demonstrable results in driving improvements and changes.
4. Strong ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
5. A positive, friendly, and driven attitude, with an ability to act as a change agent.
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to lead by example and engage effectively with staff at all levels.
