ABOUTTHE TEAM
The Transport team is afriendly and encouraging team responsible for managing HMTreasury’s interests in transport policy, both as a finance andeconomics ministry. We work closely with the Department forTransport, which has one of the biggest capital budgets inWhitehall.
ABOUTTHE ROLE
We are looking for aSenior Policy Adviser to provide maternity cover for 9 months. Youwill lead on providing HM Treasury oversight of rail infrastructurespending – a multi-billion programme of public investment in UKtransport and key departmental priority of close interest toministers and No.10. A core part of your work will be buildingstrong, collaborative relationships with DfT, Network Rail, NISTA,the Office for Road and Rail, and with other teams across theTreasury.
Keyaccountabilities
1. Lead HMTreasury oversight of rail infrastructure spending and therelationship with DfT, Network Rail and the Office For Road andRail.
2. Manage spending approvals for new railinfrastructure.
3. Manage a Senior ExecutiveOfficer, with opportunities to supervise and guide the work ofthose within the wider team.
You'll be joiningus at an exciting time following the Spending Review, which willhelp to shape policy on rail infrastructure investment in thecomingyears.
