We currently have a full time, 6 month fixed term position for Young Peoples Advisor, Grade 7 £30,060 to £33,366 within the Supporting Independence Team based in Ellesmere Port.
The role of a Young Persons Personal Advisor (known as a PA) is to provide support, advice and guidance to promote the capacity of each young person to develop the skills necessary to live independently and thrive in their adulthood. PAs provide an individually-tailored, outcome-focussed service to children and young people who are legally defined as a care leaver, based on working with them to assess and analyse their needs and goals and therefore develop with them planning for next steps. Through building their confidence, the service works to empower and enable our care leavers to realise their full potential and become successful in all aspects of their lives.
Our role as Corporate Parents in Cheshire West and Chester is both a privilege and a job we take seriously. Therefore, any candidates should be passionate about providing nurture and support for our young people. Our practice model, Our Ways of Working, is rooted in trauma-informed practice and candidates will have the opportunity to engage in bespoke trauma-informed practice and motivational interview training to ensure the highest quality of care and planning for our young people.
Working for Cheshire West and Chester Council Children’s Service, we offer you the opportunity of working in a motivated and dynamic organisation that values its workforce and embraces new ways of working to meet ongoing challenges, a comprehensive package of employee benefits through our Working Rewards Scheme and access to training. We offer quality and regular supervision and candidates will have the opportunity to participate in professional development. You will be part of a very supportive team, passionate about our work and the difference we make.
The Supporting Independence Team works across the local authority area including Ellesmere Port, Chester, Winsford, Northwich and surrounding areas. Candidates must be prepared to work in and around this area. The role is a hybrid role which means there will be a mixture of office and home working, depending on the needs of the service. The main office base for this post is The Portal, Ellesmere Port.
