Consultant Paediatrician - Community Paediatrics
We are looking for an experienced, caring and self-motivated clinician to support the work of the Community Paediatric team based at Breightmet Health Centre. The successful applicant will have excellent clinical skills in a wide range of paediatric disciplines including skills working with looked after children. They will need to demonstrate attention to detail, have excellent communication skills, be well organised, flexible and self-directive with a positive 'can do'/problem solving attitude. They must be able to work confidently within a multi-disciplinary and multi-agency team and be able to work to timescales and deadlines when needed.
Main duties of the job
Clinical
The main areas of clinical work are:
* General community paediatrics including care of children with neurodisabilities in locality based clinics. We aim to provide care as close to home as possible.
* Responsibility for the health of children attending a local authority special school (secondary school), providing a clinic in the school.
* Clinics for initial health assessments and adoption medicals.

Person Specification
Work related circumstances
* Full registration with GMC.
* Ability to get independently to venues within the Bolton locality.
Skills
* Broad knowledge of paediatrics with several years of experience.
* A thorough understanding of the health needs and requirements to support children who are looked after including experience of initial health assessments and adoption medicals.
* Ability to work well within a team.
* Excellent communication skills - written and verbal.
* Ability to work to timescales and deadlines.
* Experience of performing consultant duties.
* Evidence of organisational and leadership skills.
Experience
* MRCPCH or equivalent.
* On specialist register, holding paediatric CCT or expected to do so within 6 months of interview.
