Your new role
As the newest member of our Secondary Steel Design group working within Offshore Wind Engineering, you will join a team of highly talented and engaged engineers at the forefront of innovative and complex design techniques in steel and composite materials. You will take on responsibility for your own design deliverables applying an analytical approach and structural understanding to create innovative solutions - with the aim of shaping and enhancing our service delivery.
Your key tasks and responsibilities
1. Delivering secondary steel design work packages for Concept Design, Front End Engineering Design (FEED) and Detailed Designs with focus on large steel foundation structures for offshore wind turbines, in collaboration with secondary steel engineers and other relevant disciplines.
2. Overseeing the work of secondary steel engineers and CAD technicians in delivering high-quality design and documentation of secondary structural components, reflecting both fabrication-friendliness and the latest state-of-the-art techniques, while ensuring successful third-party certification and efficient follow-up during the fabrication and installation phases.
3. Coordinating design output with the Project/Design Manager and other discipline Lead Engineers.
4. Performing analyses and optimisation of structural designs, followed by skilled examination of results and identification of the main design drivers.
5. Presenting design methods and results at client and certifying agent meetings during both the design and certification process.
6. Ensuring designs are optimised to fulfil the latest safety requirements accounting for the full life cycle of the structure from fabrication through operation to decommissioning.
7. Ensuring calculations are sufficiently checked and documenting all quality assurance processes to fulfil project audit requirements.
8. Mentoring junior engineers in the applied methods and processes to design both material-optimised and fabrication-friendly structures.
9. Contributing to Ramboll's technical development in the field of secondary steel design.

About you

These include:
1. Master's degree in Civil, Structural or Mechanical Engineering; preferably with a focus on the design of offshore structures or similar areas of study. Doctorate studies in a relevant field will be highly regarded.
2. Track record applying understanding of structural engineering principles, design standard requirements and the fabrication / construction process to produce efficient designs.
3. Proven knowledge and understanding of 3D CAD and structural models.
4. Experience with coordinating designs with other disciplines and other stakeholders both in person and remotely.
5. Experience with planning engineering tasks (calculations, quality assurance and reporting).
6. Effectively plan and prioritise multiple engineering tasks, while making independent decisions that promote / advance company goals and objectives.
7. Motivated to learn and grow in an international and skilled team of structural engineers, as well as to seize any opportunity to exceed expectations.
8. Excellent communication skills and proactive, analytical approach to assignments.
9. Fluent in both written and spoken English when interfacing with various disciplines and stakeholders, both in person and virtually.
