Key Responsibilities:
Safe Operation of Vehicles:
* Expertly operate commercial vehicles equipped with HIAB to transport goods and materials to designated locations.
* Prioritise safety for yourself, fellow drivers, and pedestrians at all times.
Cargo Management:
* Efficiently load and unload cargo with precision using HIAB and other appropriate equipment.
* Ensure that all items are securely fastened to prevent damage during transit.
Regulatory Compliance:
* Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving, maintaining compliance to uphold a safe environment for all road users.
Route Planning:
* Strategically plan routes and schedules to ensure timely deliveries, optimise efficiency, and minimise fuel consumption.
Vehicle Maintenance:
* Conduct routine inspections of the vehicle to ensure it remains in excellent working condition.
Promptly report any maintenance or repair needs to prevent operational disruptions.
Accurate Documentation:
* Maintain precise records of deliveries, mileage, fuel consumption, and other relevant information.
* Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and support seamless operations.
Communication:
* Maintain strong communication with customers and colleagues, presenting a professional image and ensuring a high level of customer service.
Physical Tasks:
* Demonstrate physical stamina to handle the loading and unloading of cargo and perform other physically demanding tasks as required.
Qualifications:
* Commercial Driver’s Licence (CDL): Must possess a valid commercial driver’s licence with appropriate endorsements for the type of truck being driven.
* Experience: Proven experience as a truck driver or delivery driver is essential, with experience in flatbed trucking preferred.
* Driving Record: A clean driving record with no recent accidents or violations is essential.
* Versatility: Ability to operate various types of trucks and navigate different road conditions with ease.
* Time Management: Excellent time management skills are crucial to meet delivery deadlines and effectively manage schedules.
* Customer Service: Strong communication skills and a professional demeanour are essential in interacting with customers and colleagues.
