Due to continued growth in our Transmission and Driveline division, we seek a talented Principal Driveline Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will ultimately ensure that the right components are delivered to the right cars at the right time. You'll lead a dedicated team of engineers, define system-level architecture, set component targets, and ensure alignment of CAD and system BOM, all while upholding the highest standards of quality and performance that Aston Martin is known for.
As a Principal Engineer, you will drive the technical development of our ICE and hybrid sports cars. You’ll lead system-level DFMEAs, ensure DVP processes are in place, and conduct comprehensive Design Reviews. Your expertise will be essential in making critical technical decisions, creating a robust commodity timing plan, and building strong relationships with external technical partners. This is a dynamic and fast-paced role where no two weeks are the same, offering you the opportunity to make a significant impact on the design and performance of our vehicles.
You must be a skilled multitasker with exceptional time management abilities to excel in this position. Strong communication skills, a solution-oriented mindset, and the ability to collaborate effectively are key to success. While this is not a managerial position and does not involve direct reports, your leadership and guidance will be vital in steering the team and ensuring project goals are met.
Your experience in delivering complex automotive systems and deep understanding of driveline design principles will be invaluable. Proficiency in CAD systems, particularly Siemens PLM TeamCentre and NX Software, and a solid grasp of CAE techniques are preferred. A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is essential, as is a comprehensive understanding of automotive product creation systems, failure mode avoidance tools, and manufacturing processes.
The role is predominantly office-based, with the flexibility of hybrid working arrangements, allowing you to work 1-2 days remotely. Standard working hours are Monday through Thursday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. We are open to discussing flexible working patterns during the interview process to suit the right candidate.
If you are passionate about engineering and eager to contribute to the evolution of one of the world’s most prestigious automotive brands, we invite you to apply. Join us on this exciting journey and help shape the future of Aston Martin.
The post holder will be required to comply with all policies and procedures issued by and on behalf of Aston Martin Lagonda Ltd
