Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council is committed to promoting public health and protecting consumers through effective regulatory compliance. As a Public Health Inspector, you will play a crucial role in leading the Trading Standards team to ensure the delivery of high-quality regulatory advice, guidance, and enforcement services.
The key responsibilities of this role include:
* Managing the Trading Standards team to deliver professional regulatory advice, guidance, and enforcement services
* Providing expert advice on fair trading, civil advice, metrology, product safety, doorstep crime, age-restricted sales, intellectual property, tobacco control, Animal Health and Welfare, Animal Welfare Licensing, and Feed
* Discharging statutory post obligations as Chief Inspector of Weights and Measures under s72 of the Weights and Measures Act 1985
* Acting as Lead Feed Officer in accordance with statutory guidance, the Food Standards Agency Code of Practice, and Practice Guidance
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of relevant legislation, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively with stakeholders. The salary for this role is approximately £47,000-£50,000 per annum, commensurate with experience.
