We are seeking a Senior Buyer to lead our purchasing operations, providing a vital link between our customers and suppliers. As a Senior Buyer, you'll lead and innovate, coordinating and developing all aspects of purchasing, acting as the essential interface between customers and suppliers. Who we're looking for: As a Senior Buyer, you'll be responsible for creating purchase orders and maintaining company requisitions and queries. You'll assist in developing the purchasing team, ensuring effective performance and productivity, and nurturing key skills. Your role will involve researching, evaluating, and advising management on suppliers that meet our company's standards and values, ensuring quality, quantity, timely delivery, and any necessary after-service. You'll ensure all records, documents, and communication are accurate and completed in a timely manner in accordance with company procedures. Establishing ethical relationships with suppliers to enhance our supply chain will be a key aspect of your role. You'll contribute to the establishment and continuous improvement of purchasing and supply systems, maintaining the purchasing/supply information database. Continually monitoring and reviewing supplier performance, you'll seek new sources of supply as appropriate. Building strong supplier relationships through fair dealing and prompt payment will be essential. You'll liaise with and advise the Assets, Projects, Engineering, and Sales and Marketing departments on purchasing preparation of QA specifications, standardisation, and value analysis. Ensuring information and requisitions are accurate and have the correct level of authorisation, you'll process requisitions in a timely manner in accordance with company procedures. Placing purchase orders efficiently and cost-effectively without sacrificing quality of service will be a crucial part of your responsibilities. You'll provide feedback to the originator on the status and progress of purchase orders and liaise with accounts on invoice queries, credit notes, project, or asset coding issues. You'll ensure that all activities are carried out safely and in accordance with company procedures. Communicating with UK procurement teams, you'll provide assistance where possible and exchange ideas and improvements that may benefit the group. Identifying training needs and bringing them to the attention of the line manager will be part of your role. You'll continually seek new working methods, technology, and cost reductions to improve performance, acting as the administrator of the system and any new purchasing software.
