Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced project manager with a background in the arts to join Hywel Dda University Health Board.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about the arts to inspire others and to encourage the use of the arts to make a positive contribution to the wellbeing of our patients and service users, their families and our staff.
Our new Arts and Health Project Manager will be part of our established Arts and Health, and wider Patient Experience Team and will work collaboratively with key internal and external stakeholders to develop, embed and implement a range of health programmes, to support implementation of our Arts and Health Charter, covering the full range of health services we provide across Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion and Pembrokeshire.
The post holder will report to the Head of Arts and Health and deliver to set deadlines, working effectively within a fast-paced and continually evolving environment.
This role is supported by Hywel Dda Health Charities and the Arts Council for Wales.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post. English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

The main purpose of the role is to promote and encourage the use of the arts in the healthcare environment across Hywel Dda University Health Board to make a positive contribution to the wellbeing of our patients and service users, their families and our staff.
The post holder will support the Head of Arts and Health and work with services across the organisation to implement an Arts and Health Charter and associated delivery plans covering the full range of health services across the three counties covered by Hywel Dda University Health Board.
Applicant requirements
The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.

Qualifications and Knowledge
Essential criteria
* Educated to degree level, or equivalent standard of professional qualification, or proven experience to the equivalent standard in relevant field.
* Additional relevant training to postgraduate level.
* Knowledge of the arts sector and ability to adapt this knowledge to the healthcare environment.
* Knowledge of how arts can positively contribute to the experience of patients, services users and staff within the healthcare setting.
* Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Desirable criteria
* Understanding of the NHS in Wales.
* Project management qualification.
* Management or leadership qualification.
* Knowledge or experience of social prescribing.
* Knowledge of the Wellbeing for Future Generations (Wales) Act 2015.
Experience
Essential criteria
* Involvement within the arts sector, whether in a personal or professional capacity.
* Strategic planning and organisational skills and the production of strategic and operational plans.
* Developing strong working relationships with a range of stakeholders.
* Managing a varied and wide workload of large scale and/or complex projects.
* Producing performance and evaluation reports for monitoring purposes.
* Proven ability to develop innovative and creative solutions to problems.
* Public speaking and delivering information to a wide range of audiences.
* Managing budgets and related financial procedures.
Desirable criteria
* Encouraging access to, and participation in the arts.
* Working within the NHS or wider healthcare sector
* Facilitating networks, connections and collaborations between the arts sector and public sector organisations
* Working with, and managing or supporting volunteers.
* Successful and proven track record of raising funds for arts activities through a variety of income sources.
