Job description Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing financial records, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing insightful financial analysis to support decision-making. This position requires proficiency in various accounting software and a strong understanding of financial management principles. Duties Manage accounts payable and ensure timely processing of invoices. Prepare and maintain financial statements in accordance with financial accounting standards. Conduct regular reconciliations of bank statements and general ledger accounts. Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts to support financial planning. Utilise accounting software such as Xero, PeopleSoft, Sage, and QuickBooks for efficient record-keeping. Provide mentorship to junior staff members and assist in their professional development. Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with internal controls. Stay updated on changes in financial regulations and best practices within the financial services sector. Experience Proven experience in an accounting role, with a strong understanding of accounts payable and financial management. Experience of the property industry and advantage Proficiency in accounting software, including Xero, PeopleSoft, Sage, and QuickBooks. Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. Experience in mentoring or training junior staff is advantageous. A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred but not essential.
