The Team: You will join the News UK Finance team and will be based at our Peterborough office.
Your Role: Your role as Finance Manager - Treasury will be an essential part of the Treasury Team, reporting directly to the Head of Finance - Treasury. Your role will cover elements across the News UK Group including Wireless Group, Octave and Newsprinters Holdings Limited where relevant and includes the management of a team of 4.
Day to day:
1. Operational review of daily and weekly cash-flow processes, including reporting to UK and US management.
2. Preparation of monthly and quarterly cash-flow submissions to UK and US management including variance analysis.
3. Preparation of rolling weekly and quarterly forecasts along with annual budgets and long range cash-flow plans, ensuring high level of engagement with business areas.
4. Management of accurate and timely recording of cash book entries and associated bank reconciliations.
5. Management of the daily cash-flow position process, including liaising with relationship banks and investing of funds.
6. Review of investment opportunities and preparation of proposals for review by UK and US management.
7. Forecast short and medium term foreign currency requirements.
8. SOX compliance. Assist in involvement in testing of finance processes including the review of documentation and testing and reporting any issues to management.
What we're looking for from you:
1. We're looking for someone with a full professional accountancy qualification (ACA, CIMA or ACCA).
2. Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
3. Enthusiasm and curiosity to ask questions and continuously improve processes.
4. Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact at all levels.
5. Proactive approach and good attention to detail.
