We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Payroll Officer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely payment of salaries in line with employment terms and conditions, as well as the proper handling of statutory liabilities such as PAYE and NIC collection, using a computerised HRIS. You will work collaboratively within the payroll team to input and validate payroll data, ensuring all salary payments are processed within strict deadlines. Key responsibilities include applying statutory and non-statutory deductions accurately, and playing a pivotal role in implementing new legislation, such as the Health and Social Care Levy Bill, while ensuring compliance with evolving HMRC requirements. Health and Wellbeing – access to mental health support specialists A typical day in the life as a Payroll Officer Preparation of Weekly Expense Payments: Assist in preparing weekly expense payments using the ERP (SAP) system. Timely Rectification of Pay Errors: Support the resolution of pay errors promptly, ensuring appropriate recording for statistical analysis and process improvement. Third-Party Enquiries: Handle enquiries from external bodies such as rental agencies, CSA, and legal firms via letter, phone, or email. Electronic Despatch of Payroll Materials: Assist with sending payslips, P60s, and other payroll-related documents electronically, as well as completing and dispatching P11Ds. Team Integration and Support: Work as an integral member of the team, building rapport and providing support to colleagues when needed. System Testing Support: Participate in system testing due to payroll system configuration updates or year-end patching. Assistance with Payroll-Related Projects: Contribute to projects involving payroll-related topics.
