Job Description:
The ESCM is responsible for electrical supervision and commissioning management services of solar projects. The role is site-based and will follow projects around the UK only.
* Manage, supervise, and oversee the construction of the electrical system of the solar plant and its grid interconnection.
* Ensure a safe, reliable, and high-quality implementation of the electrical works.
* Conduct quality assurance for all electrical installations on-site, including main components, DC/AC, LV/MV/HV systems, and communication systems.
* Develop and manage the commissioning plan and coordinate commissioning teams from suppliers and subcontractors.
* Execute testing and commissioning of solar power plants.
* Align with grid operators, utilities, and external authorities to ensure safe, on-time, and on-budget energization and operation of projects.
* Review and provide feedback on electrical drawings before construction begins.
* Coordinate with electrical designers and grid managers to ensure proper implementation of designs and specifications.
* Identify and monitor compliance with all relevant codes and standards for electrical installations.
* Align with internal teams to ensure optimal project realization.
* Oversee electrical subcontractors during design and execution phases, working closely with the on-site team.
Qualifications
* Extensive knowledge of electrical components, standards, and regulations.
* Proven experience managing stakeholders (contractors, suppliers, DNOs).
* Ability to develop comprehensive commissioning plans.
* Hands-on experience in commissioning and testing LV/HV AC and DC circuits.
* Strong understanding of cabling, transformers, inverters, earthing, and SCADA systems.
* Experience in managing commissioning documentation.
* HV SAP certification is a plus.
* Must hold all mandatory Electrical Construction Certifications as per UK regulations, allowing work on PV plants and MV/HV grid infrastructure.
* Must hold all mandatory HSE certifications required for working as an Electrical Manager/Supervisor on PV projects.
