Adecco are pleased to be recruiting for a Senior Human Resources Advisor to join Cumbria Constabulary.
You would be based at their Penrith Police Headquarters. This is a Hybrid role, working part time. The pay rate is £21.20, with an initial full-time requirement for the first month, transitioning to 18.5 to 25 hours a week thereafter.
JOB PURPOSE: Provision of professional and tailored human resource advice and guidance to managers, officers and employees that is customer focused, enhances performance, organisational culture and is responsive to business and organisational needs.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
* Provide professional and tailored HR advice, support and coaching to managers on employment law and general HR issues, ensuring compliance with current legislation and police regulations.
* Provision of advice and guidance to managers and staff associations on the interpretation and implementation of Constabulary HR strategy, policies and statutory requirements.
* Assist the HR Manager in ensuring a link is maintained between the Strategic HR function and the business.
* Undertake and assist with strategic HR projects, policy development, and represent the HR function on project boards and working groups.
* Lead on specific pieces of strategic work, providing direction and making appropriate decisions.
* Monitor the workforce plan, ensuring workforce establishment is maintained and targets are met.
* Provide advice to managers in relation to job design, job analysis, and support the Head of HR in job evaluation processes.
Minimum Requirements
Education:
* Associate member status of CIPD with willingness to undertake professional upgrading to Chartered Member status.
* Evidence of continuing professional development.
* Educated to degree level or equivalent (demonstrable experience / competence).
* IT literate in common MS Office applications.
Criteria:
* Demonstrable experience in a generalist or Employee Relations role, in a multi-union environment.
* Experience of providing advice and undertaking casework on a range of HR matters.
* Knowledge of best practices within the HR field and up-to-date knowledge of employment law.
* Demonstrable experience of managing the practical HR implications of change.
* Awareness of performance management and efficiency developments in the Police Service.
* Experience of project and team working, including data analysis and report writing.
