Major Key Responsibilities:
Event Planning:
Collaborate with clients to understand event requirements and preferences.
Create detailed event plans, including menus, staffing, and timelines.
Logistics Management:
Oversee the transport of food, equipment, and supplies to fairs, events venues
and allocated pitches by the local authorities.
Ensure proper setup and teardown of catering events.
Resource Allocation:
Schedule staff based on event size and complexity.
Manage inventory and procurement of food, beverages, and equipment.
Staff Supervision:
Hire, train, and supervise catering staff, including chefs, servers, and
bartenders.
Assign tasks and ensure team adherence to quality standards.
Performance Monitoring:
Evaluate staff performance and provide feedback or additional training as
needed.
Foster a collaborative and efficient work environment.
Food and Service Standards:
Ensure food preparation and presentation meet company and client
expectations.
Monitor adherence to health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
Client Experience:
Address and resolve client concerns or issues during events.
Conduct post-event follow-ups to gather feedback for continuous improvement.
Cost Control:
Monitor expenses to stay within budget while maintaining quality.
Negotiate with vendors and suppliers for favourable pricing.
Billing and Invoicing:
Oversee billing processes and ensure timely invoicing.
Track payments and manage financial records related to events.
Business Development:
Identify opportunities to grow the catering business.
Develop promotional strategies and build relationships with clients and
partners.
Innovation:
Stay updated on industry trends and incorporate new ideas into operations.
Optimise processes for efficiency and client satisfaction.
Skills Requirements:
Ability to manage, motivate, and guide catering staff, including chefs, servers,
and support personnel.
Addressing and resolving staff or customer issues efficiently.
Providing ongoing staff training to ensure high standards of service and food
safety.
Coordinating catering services for events and fairs of varying sizes, from small
gatherings to large corporate or social functions.
Planning and managing food transportation, storage, and setup at venues.
Creating staff schedules to ensure proper coverage for events and daily
operations.
Ensuring food and service meet quality standards and comply with health and
safety regulations.
Managing budgets, controlling costs, and maximising profitability.
Tracking and managing food supplies and equipment to prevent shortages or
waste.
Negotiating contracts with suppliers and service providers.
Building relationships with clients to understand and deliver on their catering
needs.
Addressing customer complaints or unforeseen issues during events.
Presenting menu options, pricing, and event plans effectively.
Collaborating with chefs to design menus that cater to diverse dietary needs and
preferences.
Ensuring compliance with local health regulations and food safety standards.
Basic understanding of food preparation to better coordinate with kitchen staff.
Using tools like Caterease, Triple Seat, or similar platforms to plan and execute
events.
Analysing sales and customer feedback to improve service offerings.
Handling multiple events and priorities efficiently.
Ensuring every aspect of the catering operation meets or exceeds expectations.
Other Requirements:
A degree in business-related field or IT background.
Food Safety and Hygiene Certification at Level 2.
Hospitality Management Certification - Preferred
Passionate about foods and social media content development.
