Position Description for Disaster Recovery Analyst
Responsibilities May Include:
1. Support local governments and non-profit organizations with their comprehensive cost recovery from the Southern California Wildfire.
2. Support local government and non-profit organizations managing long- and short-term disaster recovery projects by guiding them through the policies and processes that are eligible for federal and state cost reimbursement.
3. Contribute to drafting guidance to clients on the eligibility of FEMA Public Assistance and/or Individual Assistance Program costs and activities.
4. Conduct detailed analysis on costs (labor, benefits, equipment, debris removal, and other costs) to make recommendations on claim amounts.
5. Perform data entry as well as create reports and dashboards using federal, state, and/or local databases.
*Tasks will vary significantly depending on assignments and project needs.
Desired Qualifications:
1. A bachelor’s degree in a related field including finance, economics, mathematics, business administration, accounting, engineering, or construction management.
2. Strong communication skills, including written and verbal presentations to clients.
3. Strong analytical skills to effectively interpret data, identify patterns, solve complex problems, and make recommendations.
4. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP) and Microsoft Word.
5. Experience with GIS, data visualization tools, Tableau, and/or Power BI.
Compensation and Benefits:
1. Project-based employment.
2. Full-time hours – $35 to $45 per hour depending on experience with paid overtime. Overtime is often required depending on the assignment.

Work Locations:
1. Rancho Cordova, CA; East Los Angeles, CA (City Terrace area); or Pasadena, CA.
2. Work is in-person at client office 5 days a week. There are no remote work options.
