Job Duties:
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, your main duties will include providing support to students with special educational needs in a classroom setting. This involves assisting with learning activities, helping students with personal care needs, and implementing individual education plans as directed by the SENCO. You will work closely with teachers to ensure the inclusion and progress of SEN students.
Required Qualifications:
* Level 2 or above qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools or equivalent
* Experience working with children or young people with special educational needs
* Good understanding of SEN strategies and approaches
Education:
Minimum of GCSEs in English and Maths
Experience:
Previous experience in a similar role within an educational setting
Knowledge and Skills:
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team
* Patience and empathy when working with SEN students
Preferred Qualifications:
* Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools or equivalent
* First Aid certification
Working Conditions:
You will be based in a school environment, working full-time hours on a contract basis. The role may involve supporting students with physical and/or behavioural challenges, requiring patience and flexibility in your approach.
