An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Instrumentation Manufacturing Engineer to join Rolls Royce Aerospace business in Bristol. Reporting to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, you will be part of the Development Assembly Manufacturing Engineering team, owning the technical aspects of Instrumenting development engines, modules, and rigs for a variety of applications both inside Defence and for the wider business. The application of Thermocouples, strain gauges, pressure tappings, and accelerometers is a vital part of validating our products meet design intent and provide the information needed for next generation products.
A key requirement of this role is to support the assembly and manufacturing operations in support of project and delivery commitments.

What you will be doing:
* Collaborate with the Instrumentation Design community to manage, validate, execute and deliver practical solutions directly to the Development operations team.
* Coordinate with skilled operators and inspectors.
* Resolve emergent issues, implement alternative solutions, and continuously improve our methods to hit project timescales.
* Instructing Fitters and Inspectors on putting instruments on components.
* Wiring up to monitor engines on Test.
* Non-conformance resolution.

Key Skills/ Qualifications:
* Professionally Qualified Engineer (e.g. UK minimum HND/foundation degree or equivalent).
* Knowledge of instrumentation standards and techniques pertinent to the application and routing of Instrumentation such as strain gauges, accelerometers, pressure transducers, thermocouples etc; knowledge of radio telemetry systems would be an asset.
* Engineering / Electrical drawing interpretation.
* General understanding of engine configurations and manufacturing processes relevant to assembly and instrumentation application.
* Project planning and organisational skills and the ability to work with cross-functional teams.
* Strong IT literacy and familiarity with Microsoft packages such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
* Able to demonstrate a high level of self-motivation, flexibility to operate in a changing manufacturing environment, and the ability to work both individually and as a member of a multi-skilled team.
* Ability to work second shift if required.
