There has never been a more exciting time to join our Trust. Major redevelopment works on both sites at our Birmingham Children’s Hospital and Birmingham Women’s Hospital are planned. Our trust has been rated Good by the CQC and is world renowned for our care.
Our Maternity Services, based at our Women’s Hospital, is a leading Perinatal Centre and one of the largest centres in the UK. We are the designated Fetal Medicine Centre for the West Midlands and Wales. Therefore, we care for women and babies with very complex needs, who need more than standard maternity care. We deliver outstanding care to some of the West Midlands' sickest babies from 22 weeks gestation. We are host to the West Midlands Human Milk Bank and we serve a maternity department supporting the births of approximately 8,000 babies per annum.
We are looking for an experienced midwife to provide inspirational leadership and management for our Delivery Suite, based in our Women’s Hospital. This is a substantive permanent position. The successful candidate will be part of our dynamic Intrapartum Care Team and able to support the Matron. They will be responsible for managing the clinical front-facing team and addressing daily operational issues to ensure safe and outstanding care for women in the intrapartum period. This extends from the Delivery Suite and our Induction Suite, and cross cover for the Birth Centre manager. Outstanding communication skills are required to ensure good working relationships with a wide-ranging multidisciplinary team and families.
We have excellent professional development opportunities, which will enable you to adapt this role. We offer a family-friendly environment for our local community and region.
