A little more about your role…
WSP has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our growing Engagement team. We drive best practice in engagement, community relations, consultation and stakeholder management in the delivery of some of the country’s largest infrastructure projects as well as delivering expertise within the water, health, energy and environmental sectors.
Within our Land, Infrastructure Planning and Engagement business unit, you will be supported by our team of senior engagement specialists to undertake the public consultation and engagement element of our work on projects and will act as a trusted client advisor. You will also be responsible for working collaboratively with colleagues across WSP to deliver engaging communications.
You will do this by:
1. Helping communities and stakeholders understand projects and how it may impact them by writing easy to understand communications.
2. Giving people opportunities to ask questions and provide feedback through publishing communications, organising events and running surveys.
3. Presenting feedback to help projects develop in a responsible way by understanding and interpreting data and presenting themes and key issues in reporting.
4. Supporting clients based around the UK and internationally by providing communication and engagement advice and activities such as developing virtual consultation rooms, posters, banners and public facing maps as well as community engagement events.
YOUR TEAM
You will be joining a UK-wide team of 50+ communication and engagement specialists who are passionate about what we do. Reporting to the Engagement Regional Team Lead, you will be a key member of the team managing existing projects and client relationships and helping to build new partnerships.
You will be based in one of our key offices where the office is designed to provide exceptional working conditions and a collaborative environment. The office is centrally located within walking distance of public transport.
We offer flexible working with a number of team days in person mixed with working from home days.
What we will be looking for you to demonstrate…
1. At least degree-qualified, and relevant engagement experience.
2. Membership of relevant professional or trade body is desirable.
3. Experience in the road, rail, utilities, water, environment or energy sectors.

1. Strong team player who has an enthusiastic and motivated attitude.
2. Well ordered, structured approach to delivery of tasks, and flexible with ability to adapt within demanding and fast-changing environment.
3. Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills to manage a varied workload.
4. Enthusiasm about growing your career in the communication and engagement field.
5. Great writing skills and attention to detail.
6. Ability to work both as a team player and autonomously.
7. Demonstrable communication or engagement experience.
