Purpose The People & Culture Advisor will work closely with the Senior People & Culture Business Partner and the wider People & Culture (P&C) team to support in delivering a full range of people related activity to the business areas they support. This role will be responsible for all first line advice, support, working to deliver an excellent colleague experience and supporting Managers throughout the process. This is a generalist role and will include the management of a range of colleague touchpoints to enhance their experience within the firm; including, but not limited to: recruitment, onboarding, performance management, reward, talent development, wellbeing, and employee relations ensuring compliance with employment legislation and company policies. Responsibilities Onboarding & Off-boarding Oversee the onboarding of new starters for relevant business areas; supporting in drafting and issuing all necessary new joiner paperwork and carrying out right to work checks, reference checks, arranging DBS / credit checks & IT access. Update and maintain accurate colleague information including the entry and verification of data onto the P&C system, ensuring information is accurate for all new starters and existing colleagues. Oversee the probation process, providing advice and support to line managers in relation to poor performance / probation extensions. Where appropriate, escalate to the Senior People & Culture Partner. Overseeing the off-boarding process, supporting in drafting resignation acceptance letters and updating off-boarding records accordingly. Processing regulated references in an efficient manner within agreed SLAs. Recruitment Supporting hiring managers with interviews for roles, assessing cultural fit in the business and ensuring selection decisions are made fairly and objectively. Ensure all recruitment related templates such as job descriptions, adverts, interview templates uphold best practice. Track recruitment campaign success and cost-effectiveness, contributing to management information reporting. Support the Talent Acquisition Specialist when they are on leave and/or at capacity, e.g. coordinating interviews, liaising with agencies, maintaining the Applicant Tracking System (ATS), and answering any recruitment related queries. Employee Relations Provide first line advice to line managers and colleagues with initial concerns / queries and provide administrative support with logging all case work on the Employment Relations tracker, creating file notes, drafting documentation and conducting trend analysis. Collaborating with the P&C Advisor, owning the absence management monitoring process, administering monthly reports, and advising managers where appropriate. Support the P&C team in conducting investigations and providing assistance in disciplinary and grievance procedures to ensure effective risk management. Attend ER meetings as needed to write up minutes in a timely manner. Escalate complex queries to Senior P&C Business Partner. Involved in managing Maternity, Paternity and other family leave request processes and expedite appropriate documentation. Talent Development Oversee 7IMs annual work experience programme, mentoring the P&C Assistants throughout this programme. Design and deliver appropriate training for Line Managers and colleagues. Support in coordination and delivery of companywide training. Assist in the annual SMCR process, manage MRT, Code Staff lists. Reward & Recognition Collaborating with the P&C Advisor, managing the STARS recognition scheme and monthly awards. Assist in administration of annual salary review and bonus process. Service Support Support on administration and follow up for absence, compassionate and family leave requirements in line with regulations and company policy. Support on the initiation and roll out of wellbeing and engagement initiatives, e.g. career framework, and mentoring. Taking ownership of queries from colleagues on all employment lifecycle touchpoints within agreed SLAs. About You Knowledge Proven successful experience as a HR Assistant is essential. Good understanding of employment law. Experience in using Microsoft Office, Excel and Outlook. Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to communicate confidently both verbally and in written communication. Must be highly organised with the ability to multitask and prioritise appropriately. Must thrive in a busy environment. Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of work. Able to use initiative and proactively look to review processes to ensure efficiencies. Able to deal with sensitive and confidential information in a discreet manner. Strong customer focus and team player. Qualifications Degree Level Level 5 CIPD Qualification is desirable. Skills/Other relevant information Knowledge of HR systems and their functional capacity. Previous recruitment and interview experience is essential. A good understanding of UK employment law is essential. Proven experience managing ER cases.
