Electrical Maintenance Technician
Permanent role - 37 hrs core per week
Salary - up to £40,594 + overtime + standby (OTE of £6000 in overtime, standby and callout payments)
Location: Bran Sands, Teesport, Teesside (Mobile Worker with van and fuel card provided)
4 Technician modules available with further £1500 salary increase per module with expectation that each Technician will achieve a minimum of 2 modules within 3 years.
We are looking to recruit an Electrical Maintenance Technician to work in the Industrial Maintenance team (Teesside Area). No two days are the same, and you will have unique opportunities to use your expertise in both fault diagnosis and preventative maintenance to improve plant availability.
At Northumbrian Water Group we have a diverse range of equipment allowing us to offer a unique prospect to specialise in areas such as PLC’s, telemetry, level control and variable speed drives.
You will be a fully mobile worker and will be provided with a van, starting and finishing your working day from home. All tools and equipment are provided supporting Technicians to minimise plant down time.
The role requires participation in an out of hour’s standby rota. We will ensure that you have the relevant training and experience required to do this. Additional payments are made for standby, callouts and any additional hours worked.

About you
You will be a time served Electrical Technician educated to at least ONC/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical Engineering. You will have a maintenance background in reactive breakdowns and planned work, and you will manage your time efficiently with minimal supervision. You will be experienced in reading and finding faults from electrical drawings, identifying the source and replacing faulty components.
We are looking for candidates with a can-do attitude, willingness to learn and explore new ways of working. A hands-on practical approach and keen eye for identifying the route cause whilst investigating problems and implementing solutions is essential in this role.
You’ll have excellent communication skills and be a team player. A strong Health and Safety ethic is an important part of our Everybody Home Safe Everyday culture.
A full, UK driving license is essential for this role.
What we will give you
You will have the potential to receive payment for up to 4 Technical Modules, (£1500 per module per year) with expectation that each Technician will achieve a minimum of 2 modules within 3 years.
