To be responsible for producing high quality customer service to all customers, overseas partners and suppliers.
Ensure accuracy of information from importers on the requirements for correct Customs Entry from client’s instructions, Delivery and bookings.
Manage your time to ensure that priorities and targets set are achieved.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Plan and control your activities on a day to day basis to ensure all entries are completed in a timely manner.
2. Compare data with source documents, check for accuracy and re-enter data in verification format to detect errors.
3. Sort and verify the accuracy of data before it is entered as well as locate and correct data entry errors.
4. Obtain relevant information from the customer in order to complete customs clearance, deliver or release of cargo.
5. Maintain all files ensuring that any Duty & Vat entered through our Deferment are invoiced and funds collected prior to delivery or release.
6. Keep operational Staff & Customers fully informed of any holds, exams or other areas which may cause delay to a shipment.
7. Develop constructive relationships with key customers and key suppliers, resolving any concerns and ensuring corrective action is taken.
8. Maintain effective communication and relationships with customers, overseas offices and partners.
9. Identify and provide early warning to the manager of the relevant department, on any issues and problems that could have an adverse effect on deadlines.
10. Liaise where appropriate with other departments to resolve any conflicting issues raised by customers.
11. Ensure all Consignments are loaded onto computer system prior to arrival / departure either by EDI or manually, checking paperwork for accuracy.
12. Maintain all files ensuring they are costed and invoiced prior to Import, Export, Delivery or release.
13. Provide transport companies with the relevant information to ensure customer delivery requirements are met.
14. Take ownership of all accounting issues and queries as and when directed by management.
15. Complete any month end routines as directed by manager.
16. Action other ad hoc duties as requested by manager.
17. Promote and maintain image, procedures and standards as set and with management.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
1. Working knowledge of CHIEF, CNS, Destin 8
2. Customs experience with CDS import and export
3. Liaison with overseas parties and carrier arrangements
4. Working knowledge of incoterms
5. Conversant with Port Health Requirements, IPAFFS/CHED etc
6. Experience with PEACH/CFSP advantageous
7. Export & Import Experience also an advantage
8. Able to promote the APGL corporate culture
