Reporting to the Finance Director, you will be responsible for: Working through a backlog of around 5000 transactions, ensuring accurate reconciliation and coding Identifying and rectifying coding errors, ensuring all income is accurately posted and allocated Performing detailed bank reconciliations, handling complex accounts with thousands of transactions Collaborating with fundraisers to allocate funds correctly and resolve any income-related queries Addressing discrepancies in restricted funds, escalating issues when necessary Communicating effectively to ensure all financial data is clear, accurate, and up-to-date Applying your strong double-entry accounting skills to manage debts and credits Assisting with general bookkeeping and maintaining meticulous financial records Supporting the Finance Manager in reconciling incoming payments and streamlining processes What you will need: Previous experience in a similar role, such as Financial Accountant / Interim Finance Manager / Reconciliations Accountant / Accountant / Technical Accountant Someone who enjoys solving complex problems and bringing order to financial chaos A self-starter who can work with minimal supervision, confident in their ability to push back and ensure accuracy Ideally, you’ll have experience in the charity sector and a qualification in accounting (ACCA, ACA, CIMA, AAT / QBE) To be a detail-oriented individual with a sharp eye for discrepancies Proficiency in Excel and Xero What you will get: Very hybrid working – 4 days from home, 1 in office per week Flexible hours Opportunity to make an impact in a charitable organisation If you would like to find out more about this role, please apply with your CV or LinkedIn PDF.
