An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Engineering department for a Process Control & Systems Engineer.

So what is the role?
Reporting to the Group PC&A engineer, this role will support the current multi-skilled engineering team in maintaining a modern plant along with playing a pivotal role in driving process improvements across the site. Both take part and lead projects delivering process control changes over a variety of PLC and SCADA controlled systems. Work with vision control systems to optimize high quality control standards.
Responsibilities of the role include:
* Ensure that all safety requirements are met when working with machinery, systems, and/or chemicals.
* Ensure that hazardous area requirements are met including installations and PMs.
* Ensure that detailed information is entered into the CMMS (Maintenance Management System) including detailed history and downtime.
* Maintain plant and equipment to the highest standards.
* Rectify system/PLC faults and identify root causes.
* Create new PLC programmes and perform software updates when required.
* Carry out work orders and PMs (Planned Maintenance) within set time frames.
* Support breakdowns within set time frames.
* Redesign and modify plant and machinery to maximize production outputs.
* Analyze maintenance/electrical/mechanical and breakdown history to ensure the PM schedule aligns with breakdown history.
* Manage or take part in team or individual projects when required.
* Maintain full awareness of issues affecting performance in areas of accountability.
* Conduct the required (RCA) level of analysis to understand issues.
* Document learnings and maintain all training records for maintenance.
* Maintain all site machinery software with regards to updates, modifications, and compliance.
* Design new bespoke systems and controls where required.
* Ensure software backups to protect machinery automation are created and available.
What Skills and Qualifications will you need?

Essential Qualifications:
* Engineering qualification; HNC with industrial experience.
* Experience within a Manufacturing Environment.
* Proven PLC knowledge and ability in relation to fault finding and programming (Ladder Logic, C+, Structured text).
* Experience with vision control systems.
Desired Qualifications:
* HND/Foundation Degree in relevant engineering.
* CAD.
* Project Management Experience.
* Hazardous Areas COMPEX 1-4 Qualification.

The salary for this role will be £50-55k (circa) depending on relevant experience. In addition to this, we offer performance-related pay and an annual performance bonus.
