We are seeking a Project Surveyor to join our Building team in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire. This role will act as a pivotal member of the commercial team, providing support with package procurement, cost control and accurate reporting working on a major public sector building project.
What you'll do:
1. Control the cost management for project and provide financial reporting regularly
2. Understand the contractual requirements of project documents including the roles and responsibilities of all involved and the notices required to record changes
3. Understand the forecast cost to completion, establish and use cost management systems
4. Assist in risk and opportunity management (with operations team) of known and newly identified risks and opportunities for best project return
5. Prepare subcontract documentation, issue enquiries, and negotiate agreements including interim and final accounts
6. Monitor and manage the issue of contract instructions, contract charges and formal notices
What you'll bring to the role:
1. Experience working on medium to large building projects.
2. BSc or HND in Quantity Surveying or other equivalent construction related subject
3. Have working knowledge of one of more forms of construction contracts i.e JCT, NEC, Bespoke.
4. Self motivated and confident, financially astute with good communication skills.
Security Clearance
This role requires a minimum level of security clearance and may also require a higher level of National Security Vetting. You should be aware that certain levels of clearance or specific projects and/or sites have UK residency requirements; and any dual or multiple nationalities must be declared. Any persons who do not fulfil these residency requirements may be unable to obtain the required level of clearance and would not be eligible to undertake this role.
