We have an exciting opportunity for a Consultant Psychiatrist to join our integrated Mental Health team at HMP Leicester. HMP Leicester is a category B remand prison based close to Leicester town centre and train station. The Prison houses around 408 male patients, the majority of whom are aged between 20-40 years of age. Within this role you will be working closely with the multidiaplinary team including General Practitioners on site. You will be supporting patients with a high amount of acute mental health needs, any experience with secure hospital and impact pathway referrals would be beneficial. Hours This is a part time role working 2.5 days (18.75 hours) per week consisting of 4 sessions and half a day for CPD each week. We are flexible regarding which days Monday- Friday the sessions are worked., As a Consultant Psychiatrist, your responsibilities will vary. You will
* Provide excellent clinical care, assessment and treatment to patients on the case load onsite
* Actively participate in the strategic direction of the mental health service, lead the senior mental health clinicians on service developments and provide clinical supervision
* Work within the multi-disciplinary team to review referrals, determine appropriate treatment plans, conduct risk assessments, and engage in multi professional complex case reviews.

Registered professional with current registration (GMC)
* Specialist Registration in either General Adult or Forensic Psychiatry
* Approved under section 12 (2) of the MHS 1983
* Understanding of the complexities of multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working
* Up to date knowledge in the adult psychiatry and PD
* Awareness of current issues in mental health service provision, policy and legislation
