As an HSEQ Manager, you'll play a key role in maintaining the highest standards of health, safety, environmental sustainability, and quality assurance across our Defence portfolio. This role offers the opportunity to lead meaningful change, influence strategic decision-making, and be part of a forward-thinking team that is committed to innovation, continuous improvement, and creating safer, more sustainable operations.
You'll be primarily supporting our contracts in Helston, Cornwall and Yeovilton, Somerset, whilst also providing shadowing support to the UK Defence Academy in Swindon. Site visibility is crucial, and you'll be expected to visit the contracts within your remit regularly for effective hands-on HSEQ oversight and engagement with our colleagues and customers.
Key Responsibilities:
* Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) on HSEQ issues, providing guidance to all managers and colleagues.
* Support and implement HSEQ strategies, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements while promoting a proactive safety culture.
* Oversee incident management, including thorough investigations and root cause analysis to mitigate risks.
* Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
* Provide expert support for strategic bids and ensure HSEQ is integrated into service delivery plans.
* Deliver training programmes, such as First Aid at Work and Mental Health Awareness, to operational colleagues.
* Ensure alignment with ISO 9001/45001/14001 standards and promote best practices across the Defence portfolio.
What We're Looking For:
* Proven experience in a HSEQ Practitioners role.
* Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
* Excellent data analysis skills and a passion for continuous improvement.
* Genuine enthusiasm for HSEQ matters, showcasing self-motivation and a drive to effect positive change.
* Possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, effectively convey ideas and initiatives.
* Strong understanding of management systems, including ISO 9001/45001/14001, and relevant HSEQ requirements, ensuring adherence to industry best practices.
* Display exceptional organisational skills, working independently and efficiently to prioritise workload and meet fixed deadlines.
Qualifications:
* Minimum Level 6 in Occupational Health & Safety.
* IOSH/IIRSM membership or equivalent.
