A leading Civil Engineering Main Contractor is actively seeking a Quantity Surveyor for a permanent position for a large Civil Engineering project in Ayrshire. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Quantity Surveyor to gain experience working on a prestigious project with a Tier 1 Contractor.
Our client:
1. The client is a Main Contractor primarily within construction and large civil engineering projects.
2. Working on some of the largest Civil Engineering projects in the UK.
3. With a responsible sustainability strategy, they invest significant time and effort to ensure safe working environments with minimal environmental impact.
4. Due to ongoing and future pending contracts, this is an excellent opportunity to work with one of the most prominent contractors and get exposure to interesting and prestigious projects.
What you'll be doing:
1. The successful Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for achieving the appropriate commercial result for the project through the provision of accurate financial reporting.
2. Build and maintain working relationships with the supply chain and clients.
3. Manage subcontractor supplier accounts, financially and contractually. Monitor subcontractors against the programme. Negotiate final accounts.
4. Complete measurements and valuations of work executed, ensuring that they meet the conditions of the contract (re-measure as required).
5. Ensure payments to Sub Contractors and Suppliers are made to the terms and work in progress cash targets.
6. Ensure commercial compliance of current contracts, protecting the position of the company.
7. Report to the Commercial Manager about the subcontract status.
What you'll need to be successful:
1. The ideal candidate will be degree-qualified.
2. Min 4 years experience in heavy civil engineering projects.
3. Must have previous NEC contract experience.
4. NEC Change Management Experience.
5. Confident and comfortable working on projects exceeding £5m+ in value.
