Qualifications
Essential Criteria
1. MRCP Part 1 and MRCP(UK) full diploma by offer date
2. MM BS or recognised equivalent
Desirable Criteria
1. Full MRCP (UK) at the time of application
2. Higher degrees including MSc, PhD or MD (where the research thesis is not part of first medical degree)
Experience
Essential Criteria
1. Evidence of working effectively as a part of a multidisciplinary team
2. Up to date with current practices
3. Working as part of the management team
4. Teaching and training of post/undergraduate medical staff
5. Evidence of participation in, progressing and completing audit
Desirable Criteria
1. Previous experience of working in the NHS/experience of NHS working practices and systems.
Skills & Abilities
Essential Criteria
1. Ability to take independent clinical decisions when necessary and to seek advice from senior doctors as appropriate
2. Experience in the assessment of emergencies
3. Evidence of experience in a range of acute medical specialties, with experience of managing patients on unselected medical take during core training or equivalent
4. Appropriate knowledge base, and ability to apply sound clinical judgement to problems
5. Able to work without direct supervision where appropriate
Desirable Criteria
1. Experience of managing patients with severe acute medical disease.
2. Experience at core level of managing patients with cardiovascular disease and managing cardiovascular emergencies
3. Evidence of some capabilities in the specialty as defined by the relevant curricula
4. Evidence of skills in the management of acute medical emergencies
5. Evidence of skills in the management of patients not requiring hospital admission

1. Be eligible for full registration with, and hold a current licence to practise from, the GMC at the advertised post start date

4. Applicants must have demonstrable skills in written and spoken English, adequate to enable effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues, as assessed by the General Medical Council
Academic Skills
